In conveying this message to representatives of the Columbia County Visitors Bureau on Wednesday, Lori Severson was preaching to the choir.

Severson, executive director of the Wisconsin Association of Campground owners, offered numerous ideas for partnerships that can be mutually beneficial, and profitable, for all concerned.

One of the first prizes went to a man who, when asked why it’s a good idea to reach out to other businesses who seek similar customers to yours, responded, “So you can steal ‘em.”

In most cases, Severson said, both businesses benefit from partnerships.

“The more ways we can figure out to do that,” she said, “the better we do.”
